The Filey Coble Preservation Society was founded in the year 2000 and was dedicated to preserving the traditional clinker built Filey coble and the traditional methods of fishing so we can pass these skills on to the next generations.

Between 2000 and 2005 , thanks to the society's members, Age Concern, Local Heritage Initiative, North Yorkshire County Council, Filey & Hunmanby Mercury newspaper and of course the people of Filey, the society raised enough funds to restore the Filey coble Margaret.

The Margaret is presently berthed at Coble Landing, Filey.
